Škoda’s New Superb Confirms its Title!

Škoda’s new Superb will be on sale from 12thOctober, its 1.5 TSI, 150bhp Active priced from €30,750, with PCP finance available from 0% up to the 31stOctober.
First launched back in Ireland in 2001, this audaciously named car has lived up to its
inferred title and has found some 18,000 customers, (Seventy-seven percent going to
private and twenty-three percent to fleet customers), in the interim. This is the third
version of the Superb and has been extensively revised both inside and out.
The 2020 Superb will be available in both Saloon (Lift back) and Combi (Estate) versions, with a sales split of 80%/20%, its outward appearance slightly modified via a redesigned front bumper, the car’s length increased by 8mm to 4,869mm in the Lift back and by 6mm to 4,862mm in the Combi.
Outside View
The Superb wears a double slatted grill, which is more pronounced than before, protruding a little further down into the front bumper. Every version comes with narrower headlights, with LED technology for the dipped and high beam. Full LED Matrix headlights are available for the first time in a Škoda production model and feature as standard on SportLine and L&K models. Around the back, a horizontal chrome trim connects the full LED tail lights, with tasty chrome Škoda block lettering on the boot lid.
Renowned for its space, this latest Czech duo comes with 625 and 660 litres of luggage capacity in the Lift back and Combi respectively.
Engines
The Superb engine line-up features a 1.5 TSI petrol unit producing 150bhp, offered with 6 speed manual or 7 speed DSG automatic transmissions. The diesel offering includes a heavily revised 2.0TDI 150bhp with new turbo charger and intercooler configuration combined with new crankshaft and injector arrangement. A 1.6TDI 120bhp 7-speed DSG also features as well as a more powerful 2.0TDI 190bhp unit with 4x4.
Several new assistance systems are also making their debut, such as Predictive Cruise Control.
Skoda Superb Trim Levels:
Our love of good trim and plenty of on-board toys is easily confirmed by the 3% of Superb’s sold in the introductory Active trim, the majority of customers opting for more heavily specified models such as the Style, (34%), SportLine, (20%), Ambition, (40%), and the very individual Laurin & Klement, (3%).
The Superb SportLine differentiates itself from its siblings using black features including a remodelled radiator grille and 18-inch alloy wheels – both of which come in black. The radiator grille frame and the trim between the full LED tail lights are also gloss black. Full LED Matrix headlights and a sports chassis, which has been lowered by 10 mm, are included as standard. The black interior sets itself apart with sport seats featuring Alcantara/leather materials.
The top trim level, L&K, offers identical dimensions but the grille, side sills and rear bumper set themselves apart with new chrome details. It can also be identified by the ‘Laurin & Klement’ lettering on the front wings.
