Having had the experience of taking to the giggle-weeds in the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class and sample its prowess up hill and down dale, it’s no real surprise to see Mercedes-Benz Ireland place one of these competent country charmers at the disposal of outdoor pursuit experts like Boardsports Ireland. The commercial division of Mercedes-Benz Ireland have put an X-Class X220d pickup at the disposal of the organisation for the year ahead.

Boardsports Ireland are active across a wide range of outdoor shenanigans, including, surfing, water sports, BMX cycling and mountain biking.

Having sampled the prowess of the X-Class off-road, it is a natural fit for a company like Boardsport, where they can now attract the sports-active motorists away from the asphalt and possibly look at the technical delights and demands of off-road driving.

Fergus Conheady, sales manager for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles said: “through this new partnership, the X-Class will bring added glamour and prestige to the numerous sports events with which Boardsports Ireland is associated”.

Dressed in specially-designed bespoke livery, the X-Class will be in use at a comprehensive programme of events that includes surf schools planned for Brittas Bay, Bundoran, Tramore, Dingle and Lahinch and mountain bike events scheduled for Wexford, Roscrea, Carlow, Wicklow and Sligo.
