Renault Ireland have announced former Dublin Gaelic footballer Jason Sherlock as a Brand Ambassador.
The Finglas native was part of the Dublin senior football squad from 1995, when he was just 19, to 2009 and has an All-Ireland win under his belt, as well as seven inter-county Leinster titles. Sherlock made no fewer than 62 championship appearances throughout his career. He also represented Ireland in underage basketball and soccer.
In 2014, Jason joined the Dubs as a forwards’ coach and then selector, the same year Dublin won the first of their four-in-a-row All-Ireland titles. His autobiography Jayo: My Autobiography published in 2017, gave an honest and philosophical look at his football career, the ups and the downs and his life journey. ’Jayo’, a much-anticipated documentary on his life was aired on RTE over Christmas and the powerful programme was met with overwhelming praise by viewers.
Jason joins a stellar group of GAA Renault Brand Ambassadors including former players - Kerry footballer Marc O’Se, Dublin’s Alan Brogan and Westmeath’s Dessie Dolan as well as former Clare hurling manager Anthony Daly and former Kerry footballer and later Irish rugby captain Mick Galwey.
Renault Ireland was recently announced as the official car partner of the GAA and Gaelic Players’ Association (GPA) for the next three years and the title sponsor of the 2019 GAA World Games, cementing Renault’s ongoing support for GAA heroes on and off the field.
Renault has been the county sponsor for the Westmeath senior and minor football and hurling teams since 2014, and in 2018 the brand announced its sponsorship of the Wicklow County Senior and Minor Football Championship.
As a Renault Brand Ambassador Jayo will be hitting the road in the new refreshed version of the ever-popular Renault KADJAR and will drive the new GTline dCi 115 version in sleek iron blue.

The GAA is such an integral part of communities across Ireland and has played a fundamental role in Irish sporting life. GAA already plays a key role in our business with our many GAA ambassadors who have travelled around the country visiting our dealerships and meeting our customers, and indeed many of our 26 dealerships work to support their local and county teams. We are really looking forward to working with Jason and wish him safe and happy driving in his new Kadjar.”
