2019 Nissan Juke Compact Crossover Arrives

Ten years on from it first sashayed onto our roads, the angular Nissan Juke B-segment, compact crossover is now ready to woo their existing audience once more and attract a whole new audience.

The all-new Nissan JUKE will continue to be produced at Nissan’s manufacturing plant in Sunderland, U.K. The first customer deliveries will take place at the end of November in European markets.

 

Outside View

Standing on very nice 19” alloys, the 2019 Juke has grown a tad, now 4,210 mm length; 1,595 mm height; and 1,800mm wide. It is also some 23kgs lighter than the outgoing model. width of 1,800 mm for better roominess while remaining compact and lighter by 23 kg.

It retains its circular headlights and is now equipped with full LED technology as standard. The black A and B-pillars provide for a visual ’floating roof’, while the front end is pure Nissan. Eleven colours are available, including a very fetching new addition, Fuji Sunset.

Inside Story

Space is also increased on the inside, rear-seat knee room increased by 5.8 cm, rear head room by 1.1 cm and a boot capacity is now 422 litres, up twenty percent. The Juke promises to be more driver friendly, with a better driving position, more room, user-friendly controls and storage. New soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door trim and footwells offer a premium feel, complemented by standard monoform sporty seats and optional Alcantara or leather upholstery.

Personalisation is the name of the game with the new Juke, the all-new N-Design grade package ensures that customers can truly make their Juke their own. Multiple colour combinations for body, roof and interior upholstery are available – bringing out the urban, premium and sporty character of the Juke. Exterior personalisation is also offered, with customisable bumpers, side sills and 19-inch alloy wheels.

 

Juke Engine

The 2019 Juke is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine with 117 PS and is available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch (DCT) paddle-shift transmission. There is also a driving mode selector, with three options, Eco, Standard, and Sport, allowing drivers to choose a driving style to suit their mood or need.

 

Juke Tech

As can be assumed, this latest Juke comes loaded with Nissan’s infotainment and driver assistance technology and features Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology. Nissan’s advance ProPILOT technology, which offers electronically assisted steering, acceleration and braking, will be available on the Juke for the first time. Designed for motorway use in single-lane traffic, the ProPILOT system accelerates and slows downs for the driver to maintain the right distance and speed and also keeps the car centred within the lane.

 

A full package of safety technologies, including Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Recognition, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Intervention, which warns the driver when a car gets into its blind spot and brings the Juke back in the lane.

 

Get Connected, be Entertained with quality sounds

With the new NissanConnect infotainment system, customers can use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to mirror their favourite smartphone apps on the 8-inch touch screen display. Drivers can also access TomTom Maps & Live Traffic or activate their In-Car WiFi to allow passengers connecting their laptops or tablets.

The NissanConnect Services app offers customers control over multiple aspects of their car. New owners can now check the door-lock status of their vehicle and lock or unlock their Nissan directly from their smartphone. For increased safety, drivers can also check their tyre pressure and oil level before departing on a trip.

Google Assistant compatibility gives the Juke owner control over functions including vehicle lights and sending destinations to the car’s navigation system by talking to their smart device.

Drivers and passengers can also play louder with the Bose Personal Plus sound system. With eight powerful speakers – including two sets of Bose UltraNearfield speakers integrated into both front seat headrests – listeners can enjoy immersive music in ultra-clear definition.
