PEUGEOT SUPPORTS PREM WARRIORS

17th Feb 2012

I find it truly appropriate that the longest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world, Peugeot, will share Irish tarmac this April with Harley Davidson riders in a weekend charity event.

Motorcyclists are true motorists. All their journeys are adventures, a chance to interact with their machine and chase the horizon, whether that is for a run to the shops, a weekend spin or a hopefully longer road trip.

Motorcycle Touring, and in particular where they are planned and guided, is a growing segment in world tourism. This is very evident where it is integrated into Charity motorcycle rides as rider groups align themselves with a worthy cause and raise much needed funding, whilst at the same time savouring the road adventure – a definite win, win for all concerned.

Together with 30 fellow single-trackers, Sean Brennan is leading out a four-day Irish tour for Irish Premature Babies from April 26th to April 29th.  Participants will have raised a minimum of €1,000 to partake, Sean’s 2nd annual Ride Out for Prems attracting more riders, Prem Warriors, to his mirrors.

Peugeot Ireland has announced its support for Sean’s Ride Out for Prems 2012, when a convoy of Peugeot cars and a van will travel around Ireland delivering equipment, bought through ongoing fundraising by Irish Premature Babies, to hospitals in Louth, Cavan, Donegal, Sligo, Galway, Kerry, Limerick, Laois and Dublin.

A delighted Emma Toner, Peugeot Communications Manager said, “Irish Premature Babies is a fantastic charity that offers a huge support network to parents with premature babies. We are proud to be of assistance to the Ride Out for Prems 2012 event and has offered the use of four Peugeot cars and a Boxer Van to the cause.”

Every year in Ireland, 4,500 babies are born prematurely and tragically up to 500 precious babies die each year as a result of their early arrival. Baby intensive care units across the country desperately need funds to buy incubators, heart monitors, ventilation, cpap equipment and apnea monitors.
